Biography: One of Mrs. Prokhorova’s greatest interests is mathematical problem solving. As a high school student she was a participant and winner of different high school math competitions in Belarus. She founded the ASMS Math Circle/Problem Solving Seminar in 2003, and has been managing it since then, and she is a coach of ASMS Math Team. Over the years, her students have participated and won in different regional and national competitions such as the Mobile Math Olympiad, Alabama Statewide Contest, Math League Competition, Mandelbrot Competition, American Mathematics Competition (AMC), American Invitational Mathematics Examination, Colorado Math Olympiad, Kansas City Math Olympiad, USA Math Olympiad. Since 2003, she has composed and edited problems for The Mobile Mathematics Olympiad. Mrs. Prokhorova is co-organizer of ASMS Math Festival for middle and high school students. Mrs. Prokhorova served as a member of the 2017 Alabama Strategic Planning Math Committee, where she assisted in the development of “Recommendations for Improving Alabama’s Mathematics Education”.
