Biography: Although Dr. Rebecca Domangue graduated magna cum laude with a Ph.D. from The University of Alabama, she only occasionally utters “Roll Tide” as her husband cheers for LSU. Interestingly, Nick Saban was Head Coach (or nearby coaching NFL) during undergrad (Michigan State University) and both graduate degrees (Florida International University and The University of Alabama). Knitting, fishing, gardening, and her dog occupy her free time. At ASMS, Dr. Domangue inspires students to be their own greatest advocates for academic success by guiding them to become excited about science and learn how connected the natural world is. Following the adage of Baba Dioum, “In the end we will conserve only what we love; we will love only what we understand; and we will understand only what we are taught,” Dr. Domangue communicates science with a passion and with the hope that teaching creates understanding, love, and conservation for our future leaders.
