Biography: Dr. Jessica Alexander grew up in Fairhope, Alabama, and, as a native Alabamian, she is grateful for the opportunity to educate the future leaders of the state. At ASMS, Dr. Alexander instructs students in physics and engineering, and she believes that with hard work and dedication, all students can be successful in these disciplines. Trained in physics, as well as materials science and engineering, Dr. Alexander’s own research interests include semiconductor physics (specifically organic electronic materials, such as those used in solar cells) and using electron microscopy to study the nanostructure and electronic behavior of such materials.
